Namanya Anis Khafsah

Namanya Anis Khafsah, kalau aku tidak salah ingat. Beliau mengajari kami [para siswa MAPK Jember angkatan ketujuh], sebuah lagu berbahasa Inggris yang hingga kini masih kuingat. Aku tidak tahu di mana beliau sekarang. Yang kuingat beliau berasal dari Pacitan, dan mungkin sekarang ada di sana.

Bu Anis memutar lagu ini di lab bahasa, tempat Wildan Hakim (kini kerja di Bawaslu Pusat) sering tertidur dan pernah terkunci di dalamnya. Setiap kali satu lirik diputar, setiap kali pula ia matikan kasetnya, dan kami disuruh menuliskan lirik itu. Begitu seterusnya hingga selesai. Beliau sedang melatih keterampilan listening kami.

Dulu aku tak tahu apa judul lagu itu. Mungkin beliau menjelaskannya di kelas, tapi aku tak ingat. Selama ini aku menyebutnya: "Why does the sun go on shining". Baru setelah di USA aku berkesempatan melacaknya, dan kini kutahu judulnya "The end of the world", by Skeeter Davis.

Semoga Allah SWT memberkati Guruku ini dengan kebahagiaan-kebahagiaan yang tidak bertepi. Amien.
